OUR MISSION
To provide instruction
for basic literacy and
English as a Second
Language (ESL)
to adults, age 17 and
older,
who read below the
fifth-grade level.
OUR VISION
is to improve the quality
of an adult's life through
improved literacy skills.
LITERACY AUSTIN was
founded in 1984, by the
American Association of
University Women.  
We have no minimum
requirements for
education level, nor
language proficiency, for
our clients.
We train our volunteer
tutors, who deliver over
28,000 hours of
instruction per year.
